Things to Add to Your Kitchen for Your Cottage Kitchen Business
Are you in the midst of setting up your cottage home bakery? Once you have taken care of getting your permit and business license, your next step will be to set up your kitchen/baking area with everything that you are going to need to keep up with the orders that will start to come in. This article gives you tips on some of the things you may want to put in your baking area to ensure that you can easily meet the demand and that you can work in an area that is comfortable and caters to all your baking needs.
Double wall ovens
When you are doing baked goods in your home, there may be a lot of times when you have many things to bake. You won't want to wait for things to get done in the oven before you can put more items in. Therefore, along with your regular oven, you may want to have a double wall oven unit installed. This will give you a total of three ovens, with the double ovens fitting alongside cupboards where they aren't taking up a lot of space.
A cooling rack
You should also seriously consider getting a cooling rack. This will give you the space you need to provide several cakes, dozens of cupcakes, and other baked goods their own safe area to cool. It also frees up more space on your work area counters.
A kitchen island
If you are trying to decide where you can place some of your baked goods with limited countertops, you can get a kitchen island that gives you more counter space. If you need some extra burners or even an extra oven, you can get an island that has one or both of these things.
Longer counters
If you have spare room along one of the walls in your kitchen, then consider having more cupboards and counter space added. A contractor will be able to match the cupboards and countertop so it will look like it has been there just as long as your original cupboards and countertops have. This space will make things like decorating so much easier.
A commercial freezer
Getting a three-door commercial freezer will give you the space needed for the baked goods that you need to chill, freeze, or store for a period of time. A new commercial freezer can be quite expensive, especially for a new cottage kitchen. However, you can find a used stainless steel three-door commercial freezer that will give you the space you need to chill or freeze your goods without costing you more than you can afford.
